New Village Marks Beginning of Patchogue’s Future

Patchogue, LI—Wednesday, June 27: Legislator Rob Calarco was on hand to help break ground for an historic event in Patchogue Village: the groundbreaking for New Village, a mixed-use residential development located at the heart of downtown village that will revitalize the Four Corners and move the village downtown into the 21st Century.

The TRITEC project promotes an active, pedestrian-friendly community and will bring new life to retail west of North Ocean Avenue while retaining the historic flavor of Main Street and nearby village landmarks.

Bureau Will Increase Public Safety and Raise Revenue

Hauppauge, LI—Tuesday, March 27: Legislator Rob Calarco took the first step towards fulfilling a campaign promise Tuesday night when his bill to establish a Suffolk County Traffic Violations Bureau (SC TVB) was passed unanimously at the General Meeting of the Legislature. Presently, traffic violations issued within the Suffolk County Police District are prosecuted by the NYS Department of Motor Vehicles. The result is a loss of local control of the process, increased overtime costs for Police Officers to attend DMV hearings, as well as all ticket revenue being sent to New York State. Hauppauge, LI—Tuesday, March 13: Legislator Rob Calarco’s bill to help move the historic Carnegie Library to a new location in Patchogue passed unanimously at the General Meeting of the Legislature today. The landmark building needs to be moved from its current location on Lake Street in order to accommodate the New Village project, which will transform and revitalize the Four Corner area of the Patchogue downtown. Calarco Initiates Agreement to Relocate Famed Carnegie Library in Patchogue

Patchogue, LI—February 6: Legislator Rob Calarco introduced a resolution at the February 7 Meeting of the General Legislature authorizing Suffolk County to enter into an agreement with Patchogue Village to relocate the historically significant Carnegie Library from its current location on Lake Street, at no cost to taxpayers.

The resolution seeks to relocate the Patchogue Village landmark to the 6th District Court property located on West Avenue and West Main Street. Leg. Calarco, who along with Patchogue Village officials has already met with 6th District Court representatives, describes the meeting as productive.
